TERMS & CONDITIONS
Last updated: August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply when you purchase goods from, hire clothing or equipment from, or otherwise place an order with Team Up Skiwear.
Please read them carefully before placing an order.
By placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. DEFINITIONS
In these Terms:
“Team Up”, “we”, “us” and “our” means Team Up Skiwear.
“Customer”, “you” and “your” means the person placing the order and, where appropriate, the parent, guardian, school, group or organisation responsible for the order.
“Hire Items” means any clothing, equipment or other goods supplied by Team Up on a hire basis and which must be returned.
“Purchased Goods” means goods purchased from Team Up which become the customer's property and do not need to be returned.
“Order” means an order for Hire Items, Purchased Goods, or both.
“School Order” means an order associated with a school or organised group ski trip.
3. PLACING AN ORDER
Orders may be placed using the ordering methods made available by Team Up, including our website, order forms or directly with Team Up.
When placing an order, you are responsible for ensuring that the information supplied is complete and accurate.
This includes:
-
customer and pupil details;
-
school or group details where applicable;
-
contact information;
-
measurements and sizing information;
-
products selected;
-
trip dates; and
-
any other information reasonably required to fulfil the order.
Submitting an order does not necessarily mean that it has been accepted.
An order becomes confirmed when Team Up accepts it and provides confirmation.
For online orders, customers should be given an opportunity to check and correct order errors before committing to the transaction, and contract information should be provided in a form the customer can retain. (GOV.UK)
4. PRICES
Prices will be displayed on our website, relevant order form or otherwise confirmed before an order is placed.
The price applicable to an order will be the price confirmed when the order is accepted, unless an obvious pricing error has occurred.
Any delivery, collection or other additional charges that apply will be made clear before the customer is committed to paying them.
Current prices may change between seasons.
Current hire prices
At the time these terms were prepared:
Ski Jacket Hire — £22
Salopette Hire — £18
Large Travel Bag — £10
These are the prices stated on Team Up's 2025–26 order form.
For the live website, I would remove those prices from the legal terms and simply state that the applicable price is the one shown at checkout/order confirmation. That prevents your T&Cs becoming outdated every season.
5. PAYMENT
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods accepted by Team Up.
The timing of payment will be made clear when an order is placed.
Where payment has not been successfully received, Team Up may withhold goods or Hire Items until payment has been completed.
If an order is associated with a school or group, any alternative payment arrangements agreed between Team Up and the school or group will apply.
6. AVAILABILITY
All Hire Items and Purchased Goods are subject to availability.
We will make reasonable efforts to fulfil accepted orders.
If an item becomes unavailable after an order has been placed, we will contact you and, where appropriate, offer:
-
a suitable alternative;
-
an amendment to the order; or
-
a refund for the unavailable item.
We will not substitute a materially different item without informing you.
7. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS
Customers are responsible for providing accurate measurements and sizing information when requested.
Team Up's current ordering process may request information including:
height, chest/bust/clothes size, hips, shoe size and glove measurement.
Sizing recommendations are provided to help customers select suitable Hire Items but cannot guarantee an exact fit where measurements supplied by the customer are inaccurate or incomplete.
If you are unsure how to measure or which size to order, please contact Team Up before placing your order or arrange an appointment at our Maidenhead premises.
Nothing in this section affects your legal rights where Team Up supplies an incorrect item or an item that does not conform to the contract.
8. HIRE ITEMS
Hire Items remain the property of Team Up Skiwear at all times.
Customers receive the right to use Hire Items only for the agreed hire period.
Hire Items must not be:
-
sold;
-
sub-hired;
-
deliberately altered;
-
permanently modified; or
-
disposed of.
Customers should take reasonable care of all Hire Items while they are in their possession.
9. CONDITION OF HIRE ITEMS
Hire clothing may have been previously used.
We aim to provide Hire Items in a condition suitable for their intended use.
Customers should inspect Hire Items as soon as reasonably possible after receiving them.
If you believe an item is faulty, damaged beyond normal wear, incorrectly supplied or unsuitable because of an error by Team Up, contact us promptly so that we can try to resolve the issue before your trip.
Goods supplied under a hire contract are subject to statutory rights, including requirements concerning description, satisfactory quality and fitness for purpose. These rights cannot be excluded by these Terms. (GOV.UK)
10. CARE OF HIRE CLOTHING
Customers must take reasonable care of Hire Items.
Hire clothing should be used only for its intended purpose and in a reasonable manner.
After the trip, Hire Items must be cleaned in accordance with the applicable care instructions before being returned.
Do not intentionally alter, cut, permanently mark or otherwise modify hired clothing.
11. RETURNING SCHOOL HIRE
For School Orders under Team Up's current return process:
Hire gear must be:
WASHED
CLEARLY MARKED
and
RETURNED TO THE SCHOOL OR TEAM UP WITHIN 5 DAYS OF RETURNING TO SCHOOL.
Team Up will collect school Hire Items from the school.
Schools, parents and pupils should follow any trip-specific return instructions supplied by Team Up.
If Team Up confirms different return arrangements for a particular school or trip, those confirmed arrangements will apply.
12. INDIVIDUAL HIRE RETURNS
For orders that are not part of a school collection, the applicable return method and deadline will be confirmed with the order.
Customers must follow those return instructions.
This is one area you still need to finalise operationally before publishing these terms — specifically whether individual customers return to Maidenhead, can post Hire Items back, or both.
13. LATE RETURNS
Hire Items must be returned by the applicable deadline.
Under Team Up's current school hire policy, Hire Items not returned in time for the arranged school collection are charged at:
£4 PER DAY
as stated on the existing order form.
Any late-return charge must be applied consistently with applicable consumer law and must not amount to a disproportionate penalty. UK guidance warns that excessive or disproportionate charges may be unfair and unenforceable. (GOV.UK)
If you know that an item will be returned late, please contact Team Up as soon as possible.
14. LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED HIRE ITEMS
Customers are responsible for taking reasonable care of Hire Items during the hire period.
Please notify Team Up promptly if a Hire Item is lost, stolen or damaged.
Your current order form says:
“Lost or damaged hire items will be invoiced at full retail cost.”
For the new website, I recommend slightly more balanced wording:
Recommended provision
Where a Hire Item is lost or damaged beyond reasonable wear and tear while in the customer's possession, Team Up may charge a reasonable amount reflecting the loss suffered, taking into account the item, its condition and the circumstances. Where replacement is reasonably required, this may be up to the applicable replacement retail cost.
That is preferable to automatically charging full retail price for every instance of damage, because consumer contract terms must not impose disproportionate sanctions or create an unfair imbalance. (GOV.UK)
Customers will not be charged for reasonable wear and tear arising from normal use.
15. PURCHASED GOODS
Products such as ski accessories, clothing layers, goggles, gloves, hats and other items purchased rather than hired become the customer's property once supplied and paid for.
Purchased Goods must be:
-
as described;
-
of satisfactory quality; and
-
fit for purpose where applicable.
These statutory rights cannot be excluded or restricted by these Terms. (GOV.UK)
If you believe Purchased Goods are faulty or have been incorrectly supplied, contact Team Up.
16. ONLINE & DISTANCE ORDERS
Where an order is placed online, by telephone or through another distance-selling method, additional consumer rights may apply.
Where applicable, customers must be provided with information including:
-
the main characteristics of the goods/services;
-
the total price and additional charges;
-
payment arrangements;
-
delivery/performance arrangements;
-
applicable cancellation rights; and
-
business contact information.
Online sellers must also provide confirmation of the contract and allow customers to retain/reproduce their terms. (GOV.UK)
17. CANCELLATION & COOLING-OFF RIGHTS
This is the section I would have professionally checked before launch, particularly because your orders combine hired goods and purchased goods and may be associated with fixed trip dates.
Consumers entering qualifying distance contracts can have statutory cancellation rights, subject to exceptions. Your website must accurately explain when those rights apply and when they do not. (GOV.UK)
Accordingly:
Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory right you have to cancel an order.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, Team Up will honour it in accordance with applicable law.
Where no statutory cancellation right applies, or after such a right has expired, any cancellation or amendment will be dealt with under Team Up's published cancellation policy.
You need to decide:
-
how far before a trip customers can cancel;
-
whether hire charges are refundable;
-
whether accessories can be cancelled before fulfilment;
-
what happens if the school cancels the entire trip;
-
what happens if a pupil withdraws;
-
whether administration costs are incurred.
Do not simply write “all payments are non-refundable.” UK guidance specifically warns that blanket retention of deposits or disproportionate cancellation charges may be unfair; charges should reflect genuine losses and businesses should take reasonable steps to reduce those losses. (GOV.UK)
18. CHANGES TO AN ORDER
If you need to change an order, contact Team Up as soon as possible.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes but cannot guarantee that changes will be possible once an order has been prepared or fulfilled.
Any change that affects the price will be confirmed before the amended order is completed.
19. SCHOOL & GROUP ORDERS
Where an order relates to a school or organised group trip, additional trip-specific information may be provided, including:
-
ordering deadlines;
-
collection/distribution arrangements;
-
return deadlines;
-
school collection arrangements; and
-
contact instructions.
These trip-specific arrangements form part of the order where they are clearly communicated before or when the order is confirmed.
Parents and pupils remain responsible for providing accurate personal and sizing information for their individual orders.
20. ORDER DEADLINES
Certain school trips may have an ordering deadline.
The relevant deadline will be communicated on the applicable school ordering page, order form or other trip information.
Orders submitted after a deadline may not be capable of being fulfilled.
Team Up will not guarantee fulfilment of a late order unless we expressly confirm that it has been accepted.
This is better than putting a fixed annual date in the Terms. Your old form, for example, contained a specific February half-term deadline for the 2025–26 season.
21. COLLECTION & DELIVERY
Available collection and/or delivery options will be shown or confirmed when ordering.
Where collection is from Team Up's Maidenhead premises, an appointment may be required.
Where delivery is offered, applicable charges and estimated timings will be communicated before the customer commits to the order.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information.
You still need to confirm whether nationwide home delivery will be offered before this section can be finalised.
22. DELAYS OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL
We will make reasonable efforts to fulfil orders within agreed timescales.
If an event outside our reasonable control materially affects an order, we will contact the customer as soon as reasonably practicable and explain the available options.
Nothing in this section limits rights the customer may have under applicable consumer law.
23. OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO YOU
Team Up does not seek to exclude or restrict liability where doing so would be unlawful.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for:
-
death or personal injury caused by negligence where liability cannot lawfully be excluded;
-
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
-
any other liability or statutory consumer right which cannot legally be excluded or limited.
UK consumer law specifically prevents businesses from using contract wording to remove responsibility for matters such as death/personal injury caused by negligence or customers' statutory rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods. (GOV.UK)
24. SKIING & PERSONAL SAFETY
Team Up supplies clothing and accessories but does not provide ski instruction or supervise customers' participation in skiing or other winter sports.
Customers remain responsible for following:
-
resort rules;
-
instructor guidance;
-
applicable safety requirements; and
-
appropriate advice concerning skiing conditions and equipment.
This provision does not exclude any responsibility that Team Up cannot lawfully exclude.
25. PERSONAL INFORMATION
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Where orders involve children or pupils, information should be provided by an appropriate parent, guardian, school or authorised person as applicable.
Please see our Privacy Policy for information about:
-
what information we collect;
-
why we use it;
-
how long it is retained;
-
who it may be shared with; and
-
your data protection rights.

27. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The Terms applicable to an order will normally be those in force when the order is placed, unless a change is required by law or otherwise agreed with the customer.
The latest version will be available on our website.
28. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply so far as legally permitted.
29. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of England and Wales.
Nothing in this section removes any mandatory rights a consumer may have concerning where legal proceedings may be brought.
